Maritime Technical Director

Integris Composites B.V.

IND sponsorNorth America

About the role

As Maritime Technical Director, you will play a leading role in expanding Integris’ maritime protection business across North America. Combining technical expertise with commercial engagement, you will work directly with naval architects, shipbuilders, government agencies, and defence customers to develop advanced ballistic protection solutions for maritime platforms. This role bridges engineering, business development, and programme execution, supporting projects from early customer engagement through design, integration, testing, and delivery. You will also help shape the future direction of Integris’ maritime product portfolio while strengthening our position as a trusted survivability engineering partner.

What you'll do

Lead the technical development of maritime protection solutions from concept through installation and field support. Work directly with shipbuilders, naval architects, defence organisations, and end users to understand operational requirements and develop practical survivability solutions. Support the integration of armour systems into both new-build and existing maritime platforms. Translate customer requirements into technically robust and commercially viable protection concepts. Develop technical proposals, integration concepts, drawings, and installation methodologies. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Programme Management throughout project execution. Support business development by identifying new opportunities and strengthening relationships within the maritime sector. Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and proposal development. Contribute to new product development and help drive innovation across the maritime segment.

What you'll bring

Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Significant experience within shipbuilding, naval architecture, marine engineering, or maritime systems integration. Strong understanding of maritime design principles, vessel structures, installation methods, and lifecycle support. Experience integrating equipment or technical systems onto maritime platforms. Knowledge of aluminium, steel, and composite marine structures. Familiarity with naval, coast guard, law enforcement, patrol, or high-speed craft applications. Understanding of survivability engineering, ballistic protection, blast mitigation, or military platform protection is highly desirable. Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting customer programmes and technical proposals. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work across multidisciplinary international teams. Willingness to travel frequently throughout North America. Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance. About You You combine technical expertise with commercial awareness and enjoy working directly with customers to solve complex engineering challenges. You are equally comfortable discussing vessel integration with naval architects as you are presenting technical solutions to defence customers and senior stakeholders. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively across disciplines, and are motivated by delivering innovative survivability solutions that protect military and law enforcement personnel worldwide.

What's on offer

A senior technical leadership position within a growing global defence company. The opportunity to shape next-generation maritime survivability solutions. Exposure to leading naval, coast guard, and defence programmes. A collaborative international environment working alongside experts in engineering, manufacturing, and commercial operations. Professional development within a global organisation focused on innovation and technical excellence. Competitive compensation and benefits. Apply Applications can be sent to: [email protected]
